VIDEOGRAPHY

Solo or with my partner Robert I've done several explicit educational videos (I call these ex-ed) -- if a picture is worth a thousand words, a moving picture may be worth even more! Many people who don't learn very effectively through reading find video a much more engaging learning tool. Sometimes my video work has been compared to "driver training" movies, to which I reply: Baby, you may be good at it now, but you were not born driving.
Below are some of my projects.

Carol Queen's Great Vibrations: An Explicit Consumer Tour of Vibrators
Joani Blank, who founded Good Vibrations, produced and directed this video in which I talk about vibrators and why they work, complete with using several of them. It was made in response to desires expressed for Good Vibrations customers for a video that would help them decide which vibe to buy and explicit info on how to play with it.

Bend Over Boyfriend: A Couple's Guide to Male Anal Pleasure
Videographers Shar Rednour and Jackie Strano [www.sirvideo.com] worked with me at Good Vibrations and saw the need for a teaching video to offer male/female couples who shopped the dildo and harness aisle -- often without any support or knowledge that there were others like them. Who knew so many hetero- or  bisexual couples were also practicing sodomy? Noted lesbian video company Fatale [www.fatalemedia.com], with Shar and Jackie at the helm, produced this video to help such couples know how to proceed, from choosing toys to mastering the basics of safe and pleasurable anal penetration. BOB features Robert and me as "guest experts" based on workshops we've long taught, plus we (and two other couples) show you how it's done. This project was and still is a surprise hit at not just Good Vibrations, but also its sister sex stores in the US and Canada.

Bend Over Boyfriend 2: Less Talkin', More Rockin'
Shar and Jackie made the follow-up video themselves -- their company, SIR Video, has become the gold standard for contemporary dyke porn. This one features me without Robert, plus other charming couples walking the walk --or should that be rockin' the rock?-- with a special star turn by adult video legend Chloe.

Sexual Ecstasy for Couples
Libido Video's first video is an ex-ed for heterosexual couples who want to expand the woman's experience of pleasure, which stars mostly real-life couples from the porn world. Through vignettes, group discussion, and info presented by yours truly (with my clothes on the whole time!), viewers are encouraged to try perhpa-new behaviors like playing with toys.

The Ecstatic Moment
Libido Video asked me back for their next project, a collection of three short video stories based on stories from their award-winning erotic magazine. My role (in "Close Encounters of the Sophie Kind") is Sophie du Chien, an erotic writer who is approached by an indignant anti-pornography feminist -- with surprising and sexy results.

The Sinclair Institute
Robert and I have appeared in several of these ex-ed videos, in which we join other real-life couples in demonstrating sexual positions and styles while sex therapists provide the voice-overs. We think taking our pants off in the service of sex education is what sexology is all about.

Real San Francisco Lesbians Volume 1
I like to joke that this should really have been called "Real San Francisco Bisexuals and Sex Workers," since most of the women hail from the Lusty Lady Theatre and many, especially in the early volumes of this series, are adventurous bi girls. This one features a rather younger Yours Truly with a couple of my hot-hot-hot Lusty friends. It's notable, perhaps, because it features me reading my erotic fiction -- most porn movie make no nod to literature at all.
